This multi-storey building in Lekki is home to an enormous art collection curated by it’s owner, Nike Davies Okundaye. The gallery holds modern and traditional art from Nigeria and around Africa, with its collection being one the largest in the West Africa. The gallery is part of the Nike Art Centres which can be found in Lagos, Osun, Kogi and Abuja. The four art centres boast a collection over 500 sculptures and 8,000 paintings with the most extensive located in the Lagos site. Within the Lagos site, Nike aims to get Nigerians acquainted with the collection of sculptures and painting by Nigerian artists.
Exhibitions such as live artists demonstrations, cultural days and workshops are held on a regular basis. Visitors can book interesting workshops such as tie & dye, painting classes and African dance classes. The art centre also run week long retreats outside of Lagos. The tour offers accommodation at Nike’s guesthouse and create traditional African crafts such as adire and batik.
