Where you should be this Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s is around the corner and love is in the air. Hate to sound cliché but there’s really no alternate way to bring you into the mood of this mini directory. It’s time to gather our best outfits and get on out to dream selling spots, because if there’s one thing we know how to do in this Lagos, it’s show how good a time we’re having. So if you’ve not made plans yet, this might just be your life saving guide…
Because nothing says Valentine’s better than dinner…
Nok by Alara
There are few restaurants with amazing interior décor in Lagos. Nok is one of the few within the few with STUNNING décor, the architecture of the building in general breath-taking. It has a smooth blend of cultural and futuristic aesthetics and provides a perfect environment for the modern day couple.
And this valentines day they are opening their beautiful gardens to you and your partner, or just you if you’re single during the day, then evening bookings for Valentine’s dinners.

This is another beautiful venue. This picture isn’t even a lie. That glow is there!!!
Villa Medici is a small/low-key spot, perfect for private event and intimacy – that might be our thing here. I was here for an anniversary dinner a while back and it was perfect. So if you’re looking to NOT bump into familiar and concentrate on your significant other this Valentine, this is a great spot. They’ve also got this outdoor vibe going on which is pretty sweet. Not a large space, but great nonetheless.

This wonderful poolside restaurant is having a cookout on the 13th right up into Valentines… and if you’d rather do something else, how about you come on Sunday for a nice Lunch. It’s a pretty chilled setting, and even though it’s not as cosy as and fancy as others, the outdoor vibe is perfect for comfortable couples that just want to relax.

This is probably the most talked about restaurant in Lagos, in that it has only ever been described (to me) as a perfect date spot. So why not go here, this Valentine to spoil your significant other? How it differentiates from the others, I have no idea, but I do know that they take care of Lovers on Lover’s Day (I was told).

If you’re like me and you’re secretly hoping your significant other will take you to Tokyo for your 35th birthday, Izanagi will be the perfect spot for warm up. Rumoured to have the best sushi in Lagos, this Japanese joint is a nice taste for alternative. Especially this valentines’.

Another one of Lagos’ favourites. This lounge was a great chill out spot a couple Christmas ago, and as the vibe died down for crowd, it seems couples moved in for dates. Another cute venue for two, giving you enough space to warm up to one another this season.

Foodie couple, this one is for you. They’ve prepared a special sumn’ sumn’ – a Valentine’s menu just for you guys. So expand your gullet and go out and eat and enjoy this not so popular restaurant. You can scoff your faces without the rest of your social circle judging you guys as the couple that just eat – not that it’s a bad description, anyway!

The best of everything….
Renowned for its amazing brunch, before its renovation is this beautiful and hotel. Situated at the heart of Ozumba Mbadiwe. Last year, there was a special buffet menu for Valentine’s Day and for N30,000, you and your significant other of the day got access to that, a bottle of Champagne, a rose and pictures at a kissing booth, all whilst being serenaded by violinists. So I’m sure this year will be within the range. Then, to close the evening, why not pop into Hans and Rene. They are SURE to have something sweet to end the night.

Grillroom, The Wheatbaker
The staff were eager to let us in on the Wheatbaker’s Valentine’s offer. Many hotels have something going on, but Wheatbaker are going all out. I think the poster answers all your questions to be honest.

Eko Hotel & Suites
Possibly the most popular hotel in Lagos, so you KNOW there will be something good happening. This hotel has Romance reeking all over with an entries weekend package for you and your partner. Something going down from 11th – 14th with an array of restaurants, spa discounts and breakfast inclusive rooms you are sure to woo successfully or be wooed away.

There’s nothing nicer than a getaway for Valentines Day. Drop all the hustle and bustle of Lagos and head on out to one of many resorts in Lagos. We mentioned these earlier in our ten things we love in Lagos, so you can see why they’re back here for Valentines.
La Manga Beach Resort
Far enough from Lagos to be a perfect getaway, these three identical beach house make for a large group get away or individual couples looking for a break from the city. With a quiet beach, Amazing view, En suite rooms, Mini golf section, and a Volleyball net outside, it’s perfect for the calm couple down to the upbeat/sporty couple.

La Campagne Tropicana Hotel and Resort
In comparison to La Manga, La Campagne is much more communal, but that doesn’t make it any less cute. It gives off those island vibes with little huts. Great for serenity.

Epe Resort & Spa
Rumour has it that if you drive far enough on Lekki-Epe Expressway, you leave Lagos. While that’s true after a couple of turns, for the better part of it, it’s a lie. Epe is Lagos, however this little resort here is so breathtakingly gorgeous one can forget they are in Lagos and it’s just off the end of the road, (but yes still Lagos).

The Whispering Palms Resort
Right on the other end of Lagos is another resort… Whispering palms. It’s a long standing resort that has followed the times of modernisation. With sports facilities, a mini zoo, a mini museum and water activities… the active couple are bound to have fun and serenity combined.
